Objective:
To maintain and expand my knowledge of my degree in Agriculture, and put my schooling and my work experience to practical use. My goal is to work for you as an employer as well as to show and prove to you that I am capable of the tasks you demand as an employer in a research and development atmosphere and in the Agriculture sector.

Summary of Qualifications
Experience in identifying disease and insect pests in a greenhouse/growth cabinet environment as well as control of these pests. I have direct experience in managing a biotechnology greenhouse with expert knowledge in plant breeding, and restrictions that implicate it. My education, Degree of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, completed May 1st 2002. This education has given me the knowledge in growth habits of cultivated crop species as well as native plant species in a research or farming atmosphere.

Accomplishments
Possess a valid pesticide applicators license for greenhouse and growth cabinet environments in Canada.
Extensive identification of pathological species and insect identification as well as some experience identifying plant nutrient deficiencies.
Extensive understanding in the operation of Conviron and Polar Growth cabinets as well as the planning of building new chambers.
Knowledge of drip irrigation systems as well as fertilizer injection systems, and computer mainframe controls.
Expert computer knowledge including experience with all Microsoft programs, and greenhouse mechanical programs, as well as computer repairs, and programming.
First hand experience in Good Laboratory Practice(GLP) involved with small plot research and conducts in laboratory environment.
Experience with small plot research.
A strong mechanical aptitude.
A strong farming background from a mixed grain and
cattle farm.
Truck and trailer experience, bumper and fifth
wheel, Class 1 license, without air.




Experience

Summer technician involved in independent plot research including yield variety trials, GLP trials with unregistered pesticides, and blackleg disease trials. Typical days include operation of all necessary equipment from seeders, to sprayers. Extreme accuracy was expected and delivered.


September 9th 2000 to present Aventis CropScience
Part time greenhouse operations and maintenance assistant with duties including cleaning greenhouse and growth chambers, watering and care for nutrient requirements for specific greenhouse projects. Responsibilities consist of helping with Brassica breeding operations: planting, watering, crossing, spraying, harvesting of canola and wheat pots. Pest control is implemented when pest levels peak.

Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding and operation of field irrigation system as well as operation and maintenance of small plot machinery. Truck and trailer experience with bumper and fifth wheel trailers. Setup and execution of a stepwise breeding program from germplasm to breeder seed experience learned both in class and during this position.
